Help
To
make finding your desired BISMap subject easier you can use the Ctrl+F
and search for a word relating to your particular issue. You may also
scroll down through the file. It is set up beginning at step one and ending
at the My Reports page description.
Login
page
To
begin using BISMap, login using your user name and password which was
sent to you in an email. If you have forgotten your username and password
please email Sean
Wray to have your password emailed to you.

You may
visit our online order
form to place an order via our website. Orders placed this way will
begin being processed within 3 hours.
Check data
availability by using the drop-down menu under the map of the United States.
Choose a dataset and the map will display which states contain data for
the dataset chosen. Return

Navigation
wizard

The Navigation wizard shown above contains back and next button
along with five other numbered clickable step buttons. Each button has
several states. Blue indicates the the step has been successfully completed.
Green indicates the step that is active. Yellow indicates steps that still
need to be completed.
Once a step
has been completed you can click either the
button, located at the end of the bar, or the next numbered button in
the process. At anytime during the process of running a report you can
go back to any step to make changes and continue. For example you can
change the site location, radius searched, type of report, etc. and then
continue. BISMap will not let you go to a step without first completing
the step before. Return

Choose
State (step 1)

Simply
go to the dropdown menu and make your selection. If the state you wish
to search for data in is not listed please fill out our online
order form or call 800-531-5255 and we will generate any required
reports for you. After
selecting a state click the
button or the Report Options (step 2) button and you will be directed
to the next page, Report Options (step 2).
Report
Options (step 2)

Here you are asked to make three choices; A - select what data sets you
want to search, B - Choose what type of report you want to run, C - what
size buffer you would like to search. The maximum buffer allowed is 3
miles. Note that you may choose more than one data set per site. Return

Locate/Place
Site (step 3)

This step is the most interactive in the process. Here you must
locate your site and place or draw your site.
Locate
Site
There
are seven different ways to locate your site. When a locate option is
chosen the fields which are available to search change depending on which
method was chosen. Fields can be typed in or the dropdown menu can be
used to find the appropriate search parameter. The locate by address and
locate by county are shown below. Return

Map
Tools
There
are several map tools available here. To use each tool you must first
click on the desired tool.

Left click on the map and hold and drag the mouse. A red square will draw
and release. The map will then zoom in to the area contained in the red
box. Note that the zoom tool is active by default.

Left click on the map and the map will zoom out a set amount each time.

Left click on the map and the map place the point clicked in the center
of the map window. This tool sometimes is referred to as a pan tool.

This tool requires no action on the map. Click this button and the map
will zoom to show the entire state.

Click the tool. Click one time on the map at the point you wish to begin
measuring. Click again at the end point and the distance will be displayed.

Place
or draw your site
  
When you are
ready to place or draw your site.. The type of report was chosen will
determine which tool is available.

To place your
site, click the place site tool, and then click on the map where your
subject site is.
 
To draw a
polygon, click on the map where you would like to start drawing your site.
A red dot will appear. Click another point on the map and a line will
be drawn between the two points. Click another point and that one will
be connected, etc. Notice that a "Close Polygon" button appears.
After clicking the last point before completing the polygon use the "Close
Polygon" button. Your polygon is now complete.
 
To draw a
line, click on the map where you would like to start drawing your site.
A red dot will appear. Click another point on the map and a line will
be drawn between the two points. Click another point and that one will
be connected, etc. Notice that a "Finish Line" button appears.
After clicking the last point before completing the line use the "Finish
Line" button. Your line is now complete.
 
Click the
button to clear your point, line or polygon and you me replace or redraw
your site. Return

Report
Details (step 4)

This screen
displays reports that are available along with the prices of each one.
Here you still have the ability to choose which report you want to buy.
In addition this page contains a form that can be filled out with your
site information. This information will be printed on the cover page of
your report and used on the My Reports page.

The reports
displayed are the ones that were checked in step 2. If you wish to not
purchase a report simply un-check a box and the total price for your order
will be recalculated. A check mark next to a report indicates that you
want to purchase the report.
Site
Information Form

The data put
into the site information form will be used to generate part of the report.
A site name is required. Return

Confirm
Order (step 5)

The confirm
order page simply shows you a summary of all of the information you have
input into BISMap. It shows an itemized list of the reports and their
prices, the users PO number, any coupon codes entered, the state, type
of radius, buffer searched, the site details and a map of the site itself.
On this step the Place Order button appears. Once you have reviewed all
of the information on the confirm order page click the Place Order button.

When the Place
Order Button is clicked the report generation process is set in motion
and you will be taken the My Reports page and two emails will be sent.
The first containing a message alerting you that your report is processing
the second with a copy of the report as long as the file size is approximately
2MB or less. If the file size is larger than 2MB the link on the My Reports
page allows you to download the report.
My
Reports
The My Reports page is a listing of all the reports that have
been run by your username and password along with the date run, PO number,
BISMap project number, who created the report, report type, number of
records contained in the report, price of the report, a link to view or
download the report, and the status of the report. Return
